Come Run With Us

Mission & Purpose

The NTCS cross country team exists to train student-athletes in endurance, perseverance and strength of character.

Through the practice of running, student-athletes will grow closer to God and others through hard-work, being coachable and examining how training one’s body and mind for competition is similar to training one’s heart and soul for doing the work of the Great Commission.

Vision

We will be a team that others notice because we never give up and love one another with brotherly affection, aim to outdo one another in showing honor, and are not slothful in zeal” (Romans 12:10-11).

Theme Verses

  • Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength (Mark 12:30).

  • Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us (Romans 5:4-6).

  • Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2).

  • Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Step 1 - Read Our Team Handbook

This is our first year providing the opportunity for students, grades 7-12, to participate in a MN State High School League cross country. (Open to home school athletes who meet MSHSL requirements.

Being on a cross country team at a Christian school is robustly different than most other athletic experiences available in the Alexandria area. One read through of the Team Handbook will help you see why.

We will approach each day with hearts set on knowing Jesus, others and ourselves better through and choosing perseverance, not just in running but in all areas of life.

So come run with us. You won't regret it!
